The factors, the crop management practices and the economic situation had a significant positive effect on the productivity of domestic crops (t ha-), while agricultural challenges had a negative effect and the characteristics of farms for non-pollen households had an uneven response. These results suggest that polder regions require more attention to address issues related to agricultural challenges and the characteristics of farms, in order to sustainably intensify rice-based cultivation systems and improve the livelihoods of small farmers.
